The great thing about digital cameras is the fact that you can plug them into your telly and see the photo of your loved one you just photographed barely 30 seconds ago (don't know why people do that, they just do!) The drawback in all this is that while the SLR may have several squillion megapixels the output is normally composite and therefore rubbish! 
Poor old Sony can't seem to do anything right at the moment. If it's not the PS3 being late to shops or batteries in laptops catching fire then it's something else. Casio has released a new flagship camera into its Exilim Zoom range, pushing the boundaries with a world-leading 12.1-megapixels. The company was quick to point out that it has only been a year since it released the Exilim Zoom EX-Z1000, the first digital camera in the world to deliver 10.1 megapixel resolution in a size that fits easily in the palm of the hand.
