Buy the BenQ DSC X800 camera and never again will you hear the phrase, "Is that some high-tech kit in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?" That's some achievement, especially when the length of Apple's wee laptop would still look like it's giving you a boner...

Ok, cameras that come in different colours are nothing new,

The great thing about digital cameras is the fact that you can plug them into your telly and see the photo of your loved one you just photographed barely 30 seconds ago (don't know why people do that, they just do!) The drawback in all this is that while the SLR may have several squillion megapixels the output is normally composite and therefore rubbish! Sony is about to change all that with an HDMI output on its new Alpha 700 D-SLR so you can see the pictures in the way they are meant to be seen - in glorious high definition.

The company was quick to point out that it has only been a year since it released the Exilim Zoom EX-Z1000, the first digital camera in the world to deliver 10.1 megapixel resolution in a size that fits easily in the palm of the hand.
