We got our hands on the SE210 headphones from Shure this week at the company's launch party and we weren't disappointed. The soft heads on the earphones mould perfectly to fit right inside your ear, for maximum comfort and great sound, blocking out any other noise completely.
Their blocking and noise-cancelling abilities were truly tested in the hubbub of London's Cafe Royale, with a DJ playing at normal club volume. The bass was particularly rocking on the Chemical Brothers track we were treated to. Even in that venue, the headphones not only blanked out the wider club noise, but also the talk of those people stood right next to us. Their mouths were moving but nothing was coming out as the music washed over us. If it can do that in a noisy venue, we can't wait to try them out on the train! They may cost £99, but on our initial first listen they're worth paying for (and we don’t part with £100 lightly!) But to see what we think after a longer test, lookout for our full review in the next few weeks.
