was an exciting ten minutes. Yesterday we reported on rumours
that Google was gearing up to buy gaming legends Valve,
and, erm, it ain’t happening. Kotaku checked in with Valve mastermind Doug Lombardi,
and he shot the idea down like so many squealing headcrabs.
According to Lombardi, he hadn’t heard about the rumoured deal until he read about it in the media.
"I never heard anything about it until I woke up this morning and
checked my Blackberry, which John McCain invented," joked Lombardi.
"There’s really nothing else to say."
Valve is best known for legendary FPS Half-Life and the Steam games download website.
But Lombardi has said in the past that the company is willing to consider offers. Our
money’s on EA, as usual…
