Low emissions. Certainly not the Absolute Gadget
team after a night at the local Mexican and all those refried beans. But we could quickly improve by getting behind the wheel of the Smart
fortwo cdi – the car with the world’s lowest CO2 emissions.
“You are now able to pre order the car for delivery at launch in February next year,” the PR informs us, which is why we’re informing you.
According to Smart, the new diesel model takes economical and ecological driving “to the next level” and emits just 88g/km CO2 emissions making it “the best yet for environmental driving”.
It should also be handy if we still find ourselves in the midst of the credit crunch come February, with its 85.6mpg across urban and country driving conditions. That’s an impressive 670 miles on just one tank of fuel!
The diesel model will be available in both coupé and cabrio versions from February 2009.
