Mobile phone
operator 3 certainly likes to launch phones based around internet
applications. It has already had success with the Skypephone S2 and
reckons it could do the same again with a new handset devote to all
things Facebook.

The new INQ1 phone will be manufactured by 3’s
parent company Hutchison Whampoa new handset manfacturing division INQ
mobile and will see users access Facebook profiles and friends as well
as chat and IM through the popular social networking website.

The
phone is a basic slider phone with HSDPA for fact mobile broandband
connectivity. It will also sport Skype integration, an eBay tracker and
Windows Live Messenger as well. There is a 3.2-megapixel camera as well.

We’ll hoping to get the invite to 3’s press event next week so it can tell us something we already know.

The handset looks likely to cost £99 and be available on PAYG. Cheap if you can’t afford the iPhone or Google’s G1 phone.
