Ickle netbook manufacturer Asus has launched what it claims is the "world’s fastest business PDA phone in the world".

The
P565 is a Windows Mobile 6.1 powered smartphone and was launched today
in Japan. The phone sports an 800Mhz Marvell TavorP processor and 256MB
of flash memory and 128 MB of DDR SDRAM.

It also comes with a 2.8-inch touchscreen and HSDPA connectivity up to 3.6Mbps, UMTS 2100
and EDGE/GPRS/GSM 900/1800/1900 connectivity. There is also a USB port.

Connectivity
wise, it features Wireless b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR. There is a
3-megapixel digital camera with Autofocus, GPS and a microSD slot
expandable to 32GB.

The smartphone comes with Microsoft Mobile Office and  a business card
recognition applicationthat makes use of the camera. The phone comes
with its "Glide" interface, which is pretty much Asus’ answer to
Apple’s iPhone.

On the downside, battery life stands at 3 hours talk time on 3G and 4 hours only on 2G. But is light, weighing in at 120g.

Whether it will be available in the UK is another matter.
