CyberLink PowerDirector 7 Optimized for Intel Core i7 ProcessorWant to edit HD video quickly? Cyberlink says you could do worse than getting yourself a PC with an Intel quad-core chip and its PowerDirector 7 software.

"CyberLink PowerDirector 7, the HD video editing software, is optimised for Intel’s latest quad-core Core i7 ‘Nehalem’ microprocessor to boost overall performance gain in HD video editing performance," the company tells us.

According to the companies results, i7 processor-based PCs achieves 112 per cent of performance gain in overall HD video editing performance, from previewing, rendering to burning to a DVD or Blu-ray Disc.

That’s because the software takes great advantage of Intel Core i7 platform features such as Simulate Multi Threading(SMT) technology, triple-channel DDR3 and Intel QuickPath technology to boost its performance, while the 8MB
L3 cache further speeds up its memory access speed.

“Video editing showcases the performance of the Intel Core i7 processor,” said Elliot Garbus, vice president for Software and Services Group and general manager of Intel’s Visual Computing Software Division.

“Working with vendors like CyberLink, we’re able to unleash the performance of the processor for customers to benefit from higher performance and more efficient and smoother HD video editing experiences.”

Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink, said that now high-definition video is going mainstream, "PowerDirector users can spend less time waiting and more time creating and sharing their HD videos.”
