nokia_5320_xpressmusic.jpgWhen Nokia released its Comes with Music all-you-can-eat music download service last year the tunes also came with DRM meaning
that you couldn’t move the music off your PC. But now new software has
managed to effectively by-pass this security completely and all for
under £20.

The Digital Right Management used by Nokia comes from Microsoft, but a piece of software called Tunebite
(available for a mere £17.50) can strip away this technology by playing
the tracks at speed and re-recording them as unprotected files that can
be played anywhere. An hour’s worth of music can be stripped of DRM in
a minute.

The
Comes with Music service lets phone users download as many tracks as
they like for a whole year and keep them either on their phone or to a
single PC. Unfortunately the music downloaded from the service is also
restricted to 128kbps WMA which doesn’t sound that great compared with Apple’s rival AAC format.
