LG to launch Freesat tellies

freesat_logo.jpgFreesat, the free-to-air satellite broadcaster said that LG will produce Freesat-integrated product this year.

Initially the Korean consumer giant will launch integrated digital
televisions but there are plans to launch "further products" in the
long term.

Among the new products are the LH7700 and the LH5000. The latter will
have a refresh rate of 200Hz designed to give smoother pictures.

"We’re extremely pleased to be working with LG as a manufacturing partner for Freesat in 2009", said Emma Scott, Freesat’s MD.

"LG is world renowned for its quality products and this partnership
will give consumers even more ways to enjoy Freesat as we grow the
service".

Panasonic currently has Freesat tellies and the satellite company
is in talks with other manufacturers regarding products with further
announcements of products slated for 2009.
