Virgin Mobile sim card“Might as well face it, you’re addicted to mobile,” sings a Virgin Mobile spokeswoman in the style of Robert Palmer. Well, it seems customers can now feed their mobile addiction with the new Addict tariff from Virgin Media.

“Addicted to text?  Addicted to chat? Addicted to Facebook, Bebo or 24-hour news and gossip?” Virgin asks?

“Well, Virgin Media today announces the launch of the Addict mobile tariff, which offers the perfect fix for phone fanatics who prefer to pay as you go.”

The Addict tariff offers “unlimited texts and unlimited mobile internet access” when customers top up just £20 per month, enabling mobile addicts to throw caution to the wind and text and surf with abandon.

The tariff features standard rates of 20p per minute for calls and 10p per message for texts.

However, as usual there are fair usage policies to consider and unlimited doesn’t actually mean unlimited:
* Unlimited texts subject to fair use policy of 3000 texts per month.
* Unlimited web access for 30p per day is subject to fair use policy of 25MB per day or when free with £20 top-up is subject to fair use policy of 1GB per month. Does not include use for file sharing, making internet phone or video calls, roaming, or certain other uses. Excessive use will be charge.

Graeme Oxby, managing director of mobile at Virgin Media said, the Addict tariff is a perfect fit with 21st century lifestyles.

“With Addict, we have simplified our offering and market beating deals we provide for our customers,” he added.

“As always, in the current financial climate, we will continue to work hard to ensure our customers’ money goes further.”
