Essentially it is an
HTC Touch Diamond 2 phone, but T-Mobile like the MDA brand so MDA
Compact V it is. The phone has been launched in the UK and comes with
Windows Mobile 6.1 OS and HTC’s Touchflo user interface.

If
there are any differences to be found, they are only cosmetic. That
aside, the phone boasts a 3.2-inch resistive touchscreen (with a
resolution of 800 by 480), HSDPA compatibility, a 5-megapixel camera
and a 2GB microSD card.

The first 10,000 customers who will sign up for a contract
with operator will get CoPilot Live GPS
for 18 months for free. Users are also promised an upgrade to Windows
Mobile 6.5 when it is released (which will come as a relief to Windows
Mobile users the world over).

"The T-Mobile MDA Compact V is a great
addition to our ever-popular MDA range," saidT-Mobile UK head of handset and device marketing Daniel Meredith.

"It takes the web experience of
the MDA portfolio to a new level with the introduction of internet on
your phone with widgets and it’s also the first MDA device to boast all
the benefits offered by the very latest Microsoft Windows Mobile
platform."

The
phone comes out on 21 May and it will be free on plans upwards of £50
per month. Although the Touch Diamond is available on other networks
for a lot less.
