Sharp BD-hp22hSharp has added a new Blu-ray player to its lineup – the BD-HP22H. “This new high-end series comes with profile 2.0 technology and 1080p technology in addition to all the quality features you would expect from Sharp,” the spokes.

That’s Blu-ray stuffs a bit pricey though, isn’t it? Well, the BD-HP22H will be available in selected retailers for an RRP of £199.99 – a welcome figure given the current climate.

Sharp says the picture on the BD-HP22H is “so good it has to be seen to be believed”.

“Images are brought to life through the x.v. colour technology, so the full spectrum is vivid and defined, while the 24Hz video output means any onscreen action appears smooth and seamless, regardless of the film being watched,” the spokesman says.

The player can also handle full 7.1 surround sound thanks to integrated DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD, producing “acoustics that are powerful and all encompassing”.

BD-Live (AKA Profile 2.0) technology allows access to online content, while Aquos Pure Mode automatically creates the best possible image when paired with a Sharp Aquos LCD TV.

If you’re wondering if it’ll match your living room, the BD-HP22H comes in a stylish piano black finish.
