apple_iphone_in_hand.jpgThe second coming of the Apple iPhone has fanboys salivating with
Pavlovian anticipation, but with this anticipation comes a hell of a
lot of rumours, myths and downright lies. Of course, when the new 3G
iPhone comes out on June 9 (see our previous review of the first gen iPhone here.) comes a slew of rumours, the best one so far is that the iPhone will have amazing fast mobile broadband (if you live in Oz).

According to Australian website ChannelNews, the new 3G iPhone will be capable of speed up to 42Mbps. The site was told this by "an unnamed Telstra executive".

"We know
what is coming we have seen the new device and it will be available on
our network as soon as it is launched in the USA. By Christmas this phone
will be capable of 42mbs which will make it faster than a lot of
broadband offerings and the fastest iPhone on any network in the world
" the exec said.

"We believe
that this will be a major driver for many people to invest in a new
smart phone it will will also create a big buzz as many vendors plan to
launch new smart phones at the same time" they added.

The phone will be unveiled to a waiting world by Steve Jobs at the
Apple worldwide Developers Conference on June 9, according to even more
rumours. Is it also thought that Apple will finally open up the iPhone
to external developers to add applications and the like to the phone,
increasing its usefulness.

At the moment you can’t buy an old iPhone, they’re sold out!
