Sony has put prices to players this week and revealed that is BDP-S560 and BDP-S760 are avilable for the princely sums of £300 and £400 respectively.

Launching the players in London’s Carnaby Street, the players were demonstrated over the weekend in some “manpods”. Presumably women don’t do Blu-ray and would much rathre be doing shopping than watching endless loops from the movie “Terminator Salvation” (oddly enough they didn’t show the infamous Christian Bale rant.

The DP-S560 and BDP-S760 have 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, and are also WPS-enabled too. This means the cables can be ditched for firmware updates and BD-Live. They are also both DLNA certified, so you can stream content from other devices in your home network.

The BDP-S760 is the top-end model and sports an “HD Reality Enhancer”, which boasts smooth image tones and reduced noise. The BDP-S760 also features multi-channel headphone surround for generating a 7.1 experience on stereo earphones.

Both players also sport Xross Media Bar menus and a front-panel USB port. Both also come with ‘Quick Start’, which Sony are claiming a six second blu-ray disc load time.
