htc_hd2If you are not in business and you want to buy the HTC HD2 phone from Vodafone, then think again. The mobile operator is is only making the Windows-powered phone available for business customers.

A Vodafone official said last week that it has run out of its HD2 stock and will not be restocking the smartphone for general customers anymore.

The HD2 sports a variety of features such as a 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen with 480 by 800 resolution display; a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and dual LED flash; and an Qualcomm 1Ghz Snapdragon processor.

Media reports suggest that the main reason for Vodafone taking the HD2 off its shelves was because the smartphone was experiencing software glitches and the company did not want its customers to have “an adverse experience.” The HTC HD2 has received a good response from the press thanks largely to its huge multi-touch sensitive screen and size-zero design.

But the phone remains on sale for business customers, so obviously those glitches can’t be too bad.

Other rumours suggest that the company is rather keen to leave the field clear for the iPhone, which it will start selling in the new year.
