Genius_G-Shot_HD550TFans of the Mino will already know the joy of tiny, affordable camcorders. But Genius is challenging for the crown in that market and reckons its G-Shot HD550T has a few tricks up its sleeve to help it do just that.

“Its killer feature is a 3-inch LTPS touch display, enabling effortless access to the camera’s menu system and touch Auto Exposure function. This allows exposure to be set by touching the area of the screen you wish to be metered,” a spokesman for Genius says.

The G-Shot HD550T is a 5-megapixel camera that records video in high definition 720p quality – 1,280 x 720 at 30 frames per second.

It can also take 5-megapixel still photographs thanks to its high-resolution CMOS sensor, while a 3x digital zoom brings those distant subjects closer.

“The screen swivels to enable recording of the user – perfect for waxing lyrical on video sharing sites such as YouTube or Vimeo,” the spokesman adds.

The G-Shot HD550T offers two SD slots, each supporting SDHC cards with up to 32GB capacity for 64GB total storage. And the device’s HDMI port allows playback directly on a HDTV.

The camcorder uses a Lithium Ion battery, and can also take 4xAA batteries – so you’ll never be out of juice.

The G-Shot HD550T is available from the 18 January for £109.99, and can be purchased directly from www.geniusnet.co.uk.
