Acer’s latest version of its Aspire easyStore home server is the H340, which can house up to four hot-swappable hard-disk drives for a maximum capacity of 6TB. Meanwhile, Buffalo has beefed up its TeraStation III iSCSI products, with a desktop range from 2TB to 4TB and the 1U Rackmount unit from 2TB to 8TB.
“Clothed in a brand-new stylish design, the Aspire easyStore is very compact, but can still house up to four hot-swappable hard-disk drives for a maximum capacity of 6TB, leaving you plenty of room to expand your digital library,” said an official Aspire statement.
“And they are easy to add, too. You just have to insert the disk in the slot and follow the simple setup to boost the storage capacity.”
“Ideal for small and medium businesses that have an existing iSCSI infrastructure, the Buffalo TeraStation III iSCSI Desktop and 1U Rackmount provides its users with data transfer speeds of up to 92MBps so that critical business data can be managed, stored and backed up quickly, efficiently and securely,” said a Buffalo statement about its storage product.
“Both desktop and rackmount versions come fully populated with four drives, providing RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 and standard to ensure data is continuously protected.”
The Aspire easyStore H340 is available now in three configurations that range from an RRP of £329.99 to £429.99 including VAT.
The Buffalo TeraStation III iSCSI Despktop and 1U Rackmount is also available now, with the 2TB desktop version starting at an RRP of £869.99 and the 1U Rackmount version staring at £959.99 for 2TB and reaching a recommended retail price of £1,829.99 for the 8TB version.
