AOC is a manufacturer that is better known in German and the continent than in the UK, but that shouldn’t dissuade you from considering its latest LCD offering, the F22+.

As the name suggests, the monitor is a 22-inch widescreen monitor featuring a TFT active matrix display. It is also Full HD with a maximum resolution of 1920 by 1080 giving you that widescreen 16:9 display you’ve always wanted. At 4.6kg in weight it should give you a hernia.

Each of the over over two million screen pixels have a pitch of 0.248 mm and a response time of 5 ms. It has a contrast ratio of 15000:1.

On the back of the display are ports for both D-Sub and DVI-D, but sadly no HDMI port (you have to get one of those adapters for HDMI). Instead of a swivel and tilt stand the F22+ has a black stand running along the bottom of the display with a leg rest jutting out of the back for support. The display can also be wall-mounted with VESA standard screw holes in the back.

Most of the adjustment to the screen is done via a navigation ring in the centre below the display and above the stand. This is also where the power button is also located.

The display itself is bright to the eye thanks to its Dynamic Colour Boost and has a viewing angle of 170 degrees. HD playback is crisp and sharp without any hint of grainyness that some other monitors suffer from.

The display stand, while is space saving and means that you can place it on a desk without taking up too much of your desk, cannot really be adjusted that much in practice so it is a good thing that it has such a wide viewing angle.

Overall, at around £109, you will be hard-pressed to find a full HD capable display at this price, but te lack of display adjustment and no HDMI port may put some off.
