sky_hdOver 40 HD channels will be available on Sky over the next few months with ITV HD set to land this April.

April 2 is the date for when ITV HD will be officially joining the EPG (although clever viewers have already worked out how to access the channel long before this news). ITV was previously only available, but now football fans with Sky subscriptions will be able to watch the whole of the World Cup in glorious HD.

On 29 April, Sky Sports 4 HD launches showing over the coming months the Ashes series in Australia and the Ryder Cup.

Finally on 28 June the Hallmark HD channel sees the light of day with the award-winning series Without A Trace showing for those who find football distasteful.

Sky now claims that it has five times more HD channels than its nearest rival, which we guess means Virgin Media.
