apple_iphone_3gYou have no idea how hard it was to avoid an “app, app and away” joke. Anyway, the British Airport Authority has launched an app for both iPhone and Android that allows users to access Heathrow info.

The app, which is a free download from the App Store, is designed to give travellers all the information they need while they’re at the airport, though they’ll have to use a WiFi connection or their existing data services.

However, several users have criticised the app for asking for too many personal details – when you first boot it up, you have to enter your name, address, email and phone number.

At any rate, the app is available both in free and pro versions. To help promote it, the pro version is free until June 1.

Online Development Manager for Heathrow Stephen Glenfield said that, “We want to make it easy for our passengers to use Heathrow and putting the airport into their hands does this.”
