With Father’s Day on the way, you may well be considering giving him a brand new sander (it stands to reason – surely!) Black and Decker have a new multi-purpose sander that promises to help with all those jobs around the house.

The Black & Decker KA280K is a 220 Watt 4-in-1 multi sander that promises a variety of sanding methods. It has a reversible plate which allows the tool to get into difficult corners.

It also has three sanding actions (orbital, detail and random) for a variety of applications. It also sports an on-board dust extraction so you don’t choke when sanding those skirting boards and walls.

The device works at 13,000rpm and is quick on most jobs, even the most difficult. As with most sanders these days it features a quick fit paper attachment so sheets can be changed quickly and easily. It also has a pointed base plate size of 17cm, so that awkward corners and crevices can be got at and sanded.

The top of the sander sports a rubberised handle, so it’s comfortable to hold, even for long periods. It’s easy to use, just select the sanding base needed on the illustrated dial (the sander selects the ideal speed and orbit for you), press the button and attach the corresponding base.

The KA280K Autoselect 4 in 1 Multisander costs around £59.99 and is available from B&Q, Homebase and Amazon.
