The end of October looks set to be the most likely time that Acer will launch its Android-powered smartphone, the Liquid Metal.
An Acer spokesperson told the media that it’s new premium device should be available within the next six weeks.
Among the features tipped to appear in the phone are a 800MHz ARM-based Qualcomm processor, a 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen, Dolby Mobile sound, a flash camera, 512MB RAM, Bluetooth and Android OS 2.2 (froyo).
Eschewing the normal Android interfae, Acer will use its own Acer Shell 4.0 UI. It will sport an aluminium body and come in two colours, brushed silver and champagne.
No detail of prices for the new phone were available.
