Conran_Audio_iPOD_SPEAKER_DOCK_frontConran Audio has launched its first product, the Conran Speaker Dock for iPods and iPhones. The new audio brand has been born out of a partnership with Armour Home, as Studio Conran has been designing models for Armour’s Alphason furniture range for a number of years.

Armour Home MD Glenn McClelland said his company had been very impressed by Studio Conran’s work: “We’ve had a very successful partnership and Conran Audio seemed an obvious and logical progression.”

The music player works with docked iPhones and iPods or wirelessly with Bluetooth enabled devices. It’s compatible with ‘apt-X’, the audio coding technology that transmits CD-quality full-bandwidth stereo over Bluetooth connections.

Thanks to a rotating dock, iPhones and iPods can be clipped into the unit in either vertical or horizontal mode, while the remote control fits into the side.

Specifications include:
Dimensions (WxDxH): 283mm x 120mm x 233mm
Frequency response: 75Hz – 20KHz
Loudspeaker Drivers: 2 x 75mm bass/mid & 2 x 30mm tweeters
Power output: 2 x 15W
Standby power consumption: Less than 1W
Presets: Six audio equalisation settings

The new Speaker Dock, which will be available in both white and black finishes, should be available in late January 2011 priced at £250 including vat.
