webroot_social_media_sobriety_testIt’s happened to the best of us – posting to Facebook after a night out and wishing we could take it back. Now Webroot plans to put an end to those late night bouts of drunken social media antics, by launching the Social Media Sobriety Test.

Users downloading and activating the Social Media Sobriety Test can choose which sites to block, then select the hours of the day they are most likely to have enjoyed a few drinks.

The aim is to prevent alcohol-related posting to sites such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, Tumblr, as well as custom sites like Foursquare or a blog and/or web-based email accounts such as Gmail or Hotmail.

“For access to social media sites during these times, you will have to pass a randomly selected sobriety test such as ‘drag your mouse in a straight line’, ‘type the alphabet backwards’ or ‘follow the finger’,” a Webroot spokesman said.
