android_logoMore Froyo goodness incoming to users of the Dell Streak and HTC Legend. Owners of these smartphone and tablet devices can now upgrade to Android 2.2 within the next few days.

The Streak gets the biggest boost, coming from the now very old 1.6 OS. Dell, after customer complaints that the device was out of touch, will get an OTA update over the next few weeks to unlocked devices.

“These units will be upgraded first because they do not have to go through the carrier approval process,” Dell said in a blog post. “Unlocked units are generally popular outside the United States and can be identified by the fact they are able to be used with a SIM card from any carrier network.”

Also, Vodafone will be pumping out the 2.2 update for users of the HTC Legend, which has been overshadowed by the HTC Desire in recent months. The Froyo update will start rolling out today.

Meanwhile, Virgin Media has started pumping out Froyo to users of the HTC Desire.

“We’ve started sending out the Froyo update as of 9am this morning,” read Virgin Media’s official release.

Benefits of the update include improved performance, Flash 10.1, and the ability to turn the Streak into a portable Wi-Fi hotspot.

Recently, Samsung Galaxy S users managed to get their hands on the 2.2 update.
