, the developer of map-based apps and creator of “the first free sat nav app for the iPhone”, has today announced the launch its first game app. “GeoBrain is a fun yet educational game experience that tests and trains geo-knowledge,” the developer says. “Literally spin the globe and pinpoint your answers to hundreds of questions to show that you truly know your planet.”

Marcus Thielking, co-founder of skobbler, said that after more than 1,000,000 app customers the company was “very excited” to be adding a new genre to our portfolio of map-based applications.

“Following on from the success of our Navigation and ForeverMap products, we wanted to continue to deliver meaningful map-based products across various categories. With GeoBrain, people can experience just how much fun a map-based app can be,” Thielking said.

GeoBrain offers over 600 geography, history and entertainment based questions, with three difficulty level settings and three game modes to choose from.

GeoBrain also connects to Wikipedia to allow users to learn more about each individual quiz subject.

GeoBrain runs on iPhones, iPods and iPads with iOS 4.0 and can be downloaded at an introductory promotion price of £0.59.
