Virgin Media will have exclusive dibs on the ZTE Blade Q Mini, which has just been launched in the UK.

For £59.99, the smartphone is one of the cheapest on the market and while the specifications are nothing to write home about, they aren’t that bad for the price.

The blower boasts 4-inch 480 x 800 display, 1.3GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, 5MP rear camera and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

It also sports a 1500mAh battery, microSD slot, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and a FM radio in the 125.5 x 63.9 x 9mm body.

The device will be available from Sainsbury’s and Argos but will be locked to Virgin’s network.

Jamie Heywood, director of mobile at Virgin Media said: “The popular Blade ZTE handsets are ideal for people who want powerful smartphones on unrivalled packages that include loads of minutes, data and texts for their money. The Blade series has been a strong performer in Virgin Media’s handset portfolio, so the Blade Q Mini is sure to be a natural fit.”

Chris Edwards, European marketing director at ZTE said: “At ZTE we know that value for money really matters, so we pride ourselves on developing high performance smartphones, such as the Blade Q Mini, that are accessible to everyone at an affordable price point. We’re delighted to team up with Virgin Media to bring the Blade Q Mini to the UK and that some of the country’s biggest retailers will be selling the handset to provide value conscious shoppers with the opportunity to own their own high quality smartphone.”
