The weather has finally perked up so we’re still donning our aprons this National BBQ Week to grill up a taste of the Deep South with Jim Beam bourbon. Impress your friends with a few Kentucky specials – from a versatile Bourbon BBQ Sauce, to an authentic side dish of Jim Beam Sweet Potatoes.

Bourbon BBQ Sauce

Ingredients
1/2 cup Jim Beam Bourbon
1/4 stick butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup lemon juice
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Preparation
Melt butter. Add onions and garlic. Sauté until tender. Stir in the rest of the ingredients. Simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Makes 1 1/4 cup barbecue sauce. Store in refrigerator. Keeps well.

Jim Beam Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients
29-oz whole sweet potatoes, cut into 1-inch slices
3 tablespoons melted butter
3 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons Jim Beam Bourbon
1/4 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
3 tablespoons orange juice
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation
Place sliced potatoes in a lightly greased 8-inch square dish. Combine butter and next 5 ingredients; pour over potatoes. Sprinkle with pecans. Bake in 350-degree oven for 25 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Optional: add marshmallows in last few minutes of baking.

Mixed Berry Bourbon cocktail

Ingredients
1 1/2 parts Jim Beam® Original
2 parts fresh Mixed Berries
1 part Fresh Lime Juice
1 part Simple Syrup
Lemon-Lime Soda (to taste)

Preparation
Combine ingredients in a mixing glass and serve over ice in a cocktail glass. Garnish with berries.

Jim Beam Weekend Punch

Ingredients
3 parts Jim Beam White
4 parts Cranberry Juice
2 parts Pineapple Juice
1 part Orange Juice
1/2 part Lemon Juice
3 parts Ginger Ale
Ice Cubes

Preparation
Combine all ingredients in a punch bowl. Pour part of the mixture into an ice cube tray and freeze. Refrigerate bowl until well chilled. Before serving, add ice cubes and ginger ale.
