Swash Express Clothing Care System Unveiled 800x550

If you are forever putting clothes through the wash, even if you think they aren’t all the that dirty, Proctor and Gamble have a new device that saves you a lot of time doing the laundry.

The Swash is a tall, thin machine large enough to hold an extra-large jacket. Instead of washing the garment, it uses gel pods to neutralise odours, remove wrinkles and restore a garment’s fit in within ten minutes.

Users place an item of clothing on the hanger in the device and securing the edges with clips provided. The gel in the pods spray onto the fabric, removing wrinkles, removing odour and restoring fit.

“We have talked to thousands of people over the years that have told us they are yearning for a better way to care for clothing in between laundering and dry cleaning. Until today there hasn’t been an effective solution,” said Charles Pierce, group president of P&G New Business Creation.

The device plugs directly into a power socket and requires no water, plumbing, pipes, vents, special hook-ups or professional installation. It can be used on  such fabrics as denim, wool, polyester, lycra, cotton, cashmere, sequins, delicate beading and lace.

The device costs $499 with the Swash pods setting you back $6.99 per 12 pack to refresh clothes. The pods come in fragrances named Awake, Recharge and Unwind. The device will sell at Bloomingdale’s and will be available next month at other retailers.
