There are plenty of portable hard drives on the market but still only a few that feature USB-C.

The My Passport Ultra USB-C edition has the same compact design as classic My Passport drives but is USB-C ready and compatible with USB 3.0. The drive can also be encrypted using 256-bit AES hardware encryption through WD Security.

The drive measures 4.25”x3.25”x0.75” and weighs 255 gm (9 oz). It comes with a 15” USB C to USB C data/power cable as well as a USB C to USB 3 A adapter. It comes formatted and ready to use and pre-loaded with WD Discovery software for Windows or Mac. The drive is an active hard drive (not SSD), powered through the USB cable; no additional power cable is required.

The software that comes with the drive enables users to set up auto backup options, password protection, import cloud images and documents for Facebook, Instagram, Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, etc. WD recommends this drive for Windows 10, 8.1, or 7.

Boasting a three-year warranty by default, a useful set of utilities, a reasonable retail price and decent performance, the WD My Passport Ultra is a great portable hard drive for all your storage needs.

The portable hard drive is available on Amazon.
