Volter is a relatively new e-scooter brand based in the UK. It claims that its new Series One e-scooter can take the worse of the British weather.

It sports a 350W motor, 8.5in pneumatic tyres, and a maximum load capacity of 120kg. And as it is designed for British weather, it has a IP55 weather-resistance rating.

It has a 25-mile range and charges to 80% capacity in three hours, with a full charge taking seven hours, thanks to its 36V 13.2Ah battery.

The scooter costs £449 with standard air-filled tyres and it comes in two colours, Black or Teal.

It is easy to set up. You pull it out of its box, unfold it, lock the handlebar into place with a clip on the base of the stem, then attach the brake lever.

It has a skateboard like base with its throttle is located next to the right handle grip and an LED display positioned in the centre of the handlebars. Underneath this is a USB port protected by a bit of rubber from the rain.

You can slow down using a rear disc brake and front KERS brake, or pressing the rear mudguard with your foot.

It has three riding modes with max speeds for 6mph, 9mph, and 15.5mph.  Not as fast as the E-Micro scooter we reviewed a few years back.

While it is comfortable, powerful and fast, it could have been a bit faster.
